“Service Above Self” – The Rotarian Motto.
The Wine and Food Festival is slated to be the Rotary Club of Kyle’s largest fundraiser to date. We are so lucky to have fellow Rotarian Bonnie Villacampa inspire this event. The Texas International Wine Competition was founded by Bonnie Villacampa, an international wine judge and co-founder of Baron de Villacampa, a wine brand from the Rioja region in Spain. Ms. Villacampa has judged at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (FLIWC) in New York for more than 10 years. Last year, the FLIWC celebrated its 15th year and received over 3,000 wines entries from 22 countries, all 50 states in the US, and 6 provinces in Canada. We are delighted to see such an event right here in our own backyard! In continuing our mission statement we are also excited that proceeds from the event will go to our very own homegrown non-profit Hope & Love 4 Kids!
Hope & Love 4 Kids, is a local children’s non-profit, based in Kyle and serves all of Hays County. For the last 11 years, they have provided basic necessities for children and families in need. They accomplish this in different areas such as school supply drives, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, Angel Tree adoptions at Christmas time, three different types of scholarships, client education (health, budgeting, life skills, voter education, etc.), empowerment programs, and much more!
The more money we raise, the more lives we can touch! Their goal is to have the resources to never have to turn a child in need away. Solely dependent on the community, Hope & Love 4 kids needs your help!
